Description

The Power Networking Group was founded in 2002 by Mississauga business woman and mortgage professional Angela Wong-Liao. Her motto is, “minimum costs, maximum benefits and equal opportunity for all networkers.” There is no membership fee. Each month she hosts an energetic networking lunch meeting which regularly draws an eclectic mix of entrepreneurs and business owners from across the entire GTA.

Monthly networking meetings occur on the last Thursday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. at Tucker’s Marketplace in Mississauga. Each networker may display business cards and brochures as well as deliver a one minute infomercial. Tickets cost $22.00 (with advance registration) and include a buffet lunch and door prizes. The Power Networking Group media sponsor is The Wave 94.7. Each month they donate a door prize of 28 thirty second radio commercials.

Wong-Liao is a strong believer that part of the responsibility as a Business Professional Networking Group is to give back to the community. “I’m so proud of how popular and successful The Power Networking Group has become and remained in its 8 years”, says Wong-Liao, “I am especially proud of both the core attendees who have supported this group for so long and the new faces we attract each month”.

The Power Networking Group’s Charity of Choice is Wellspring Chinguacousy Cancer Support Centre. Wellspring Chinguacousy Cancer Support Centre is one of seven centres in Ontario that provide emotional, psychological and informational support, in a home like setting, to individuals and families living with cancer. Wellspring receives no core funding from government or other sources and therefore relies entirely on donations in order to offer cancer support programs free of charge. For information about Wellspring’s programs and services visit www.wellspring.ca.
